Caring Transitions Expands to Newport for First-Ever Rhode Island Location

November 21, 2025 // Franchising.com // NEWPORT, RI — Caring Transitions continues expanding its compassionate reach nationwide with its latest location in Rhode Island.

Caring Transitions of Newport, RI will serve Newport, Middletown, Portsmouth, Jamestown, North Kingstown, East Providence, Riverside, Barrington, Warren, Bristol, Tiverton, Little Compton, and the surrounding areas.

The new Caring Transitions location, owned and operated by Pete Lankarge, will provide a unique full-service approach that is an end-to-end solution, including decluttering, resettling, clean-outs, space planning, and managing estate sales and online auctions while providing a win-win experience for everyone.

Lankarge, a Portsmouth native, is turning an unexpected personal transition into a powerful mission. Two years ago, Lankarge’s sister, who has special needs, was relocated from living with their mother into a group home. Witnessing the emotional strain this caused on his loved ones, Lankarge recognized the need for relocation services that are not only logistically seamless but also emotionally supportive. In Lankarge’s own words, this purpose “helps him out of bed each morning."

Running into the Caring Transitions brand repeatedly at franchising conferences over the last several years, Lankarge decided to take the leap into business ownership, launching the brand’s first-ever Rhode Island location. With Newport’s senior population at a 31% saturation rate, he believed the territory to be perfect for a compassionate, service-driven business.

“I’m thrilled to bring Caring Transitions to Rhode Island, ” said Lankarge. transitions easier, smoother, and more compassionate for families like mine who have experienced firsthand how life changes can be challenging. ”

“We are so excited to welcome Pete into the Caring Transitions franchise family, and launch our brand presence in Rhode Island, ” said Ray Fabik, President of Caring Transitions. “Our goal is to make dedication to serving families with both compassion and professionalism perfectly embodies the mission of our brand, and we know his community will benefit immensely from his work.”
